Best moments of 2013

I can't choose just one best moment of 2013, so I'll share two.

I was very happy to go to Peti bácsi and Jeannine néni's wedding in Connecticut. I got to read during the wedding. I was excited that Hannah and I got to wear the same dresses.

When we were in England in the summer, I got to hold a barn owl. I was so excited because owls are my favorite animal and I've never had the chance to get so close to one before.

DisneyWorld!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last Thankgiving, my family and I went to DisneyWorld. We all met up there. I was so happy that I could see my family and spend a week with my cousins. DisneyWorld was so fun. I had never gone on a roller coaster before, so sometimes it was scary. We ate out every day. We went to three parades. I had always wanted to go to DisneyWorld, so this was a dream come true for me. Also, I got to miss a few days of school!! =)

LAKE TAHOE!!!!!!!!

The pictures of geese here, were taken from our balcony in Lake Tahoe. They were just wandering around eating grass. I'm glad we never ran in the back yard because there was poop everywhere. ;)

I took this picture the last evening that we were at Lake Tahoe.

A Day in the Snow!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, we went to Soda Springs with some friends. Below is a video of me skiing for the first time all by myself!!!!!!!! It took a lot of practice. But I was nervous because I had never been skiing before. I kept falling down but soon I got the hang of it. Once you get used to it, skiing is really so much fun.

Below is me holding a snowball that I made of ice. There wasn't really snow, it was wet or half-melted ice. I was bored while waiting for friends, so I started scraping ice off of the surface. It took a while to make the snowball or rather, ice-ball. My gloves were soaked afterwards.

Below is a picture of Alexander and me at the tubing hill. The picture shows me holding Alexander's handle and him holding mine. When he started slowing down, I pulled his handle and we went faster because he bumped into me. When that happened to me, he did the same thing. Tubing was much fun except that my boots and socks got wet, so my toes got really cold.

After the capitol, we went to a fish hatchery. The salmon were jumping up a ladder! Then they went into a place where we could feed them. This is a picture of the adult salmon.

These are the baby salmon. They are swimming in all different directions. Some of my friends joked that they wanted to keep a salmon because they thought the salmon were cute.

Sacramento field trip

For a field trip, we went to Sacramento to see the capitol building. This picture is of the office of the governor of California in 1906.

There is an old lamp that the governor used. There were alarms between the two sides of the door, so we couldn't go in for a closer look.

This is the seal of California. "Eureka!" means "I've found it!" Also, "Eureka!" is the state motto.

The woman is the Greek goddess of war and wisdom called Minerva. The California grizzly bear is the state bear.

The seal was on the ceiling. It's stained glass.
